Paul Jewell has revealed clubs have enquired about Derby County striker Steve Howard.
The 31-year-old has been linked with a January move to Wolves and Fulham, who were keen on the target man during the summer transfer window.
Howard scored his first Premier League goal in last weekend's 4-1 defeat at Manchester United and Jewell wants the forward to build on that effort.
"We've had calls from clubs who want to know what we are going to be doing with Steve in January," said Jewell in the Derby Evening Telegraph.
"Steve scored his first goal of the season at Old Trafford on Saturday and, hopefully, he can now go on a roll and play a part in keeping us up.
"I've only been here two weeks and I see everybody playing a part. I have told the players to show me in training and in the matches that they should be in the team."
Busy
The new Derby boss also confirmed he has been in touch with other clubs as he looks to bring loan signings to Pride Park when the transfer window opens.
He added: "It would be an ideal scenario to get one or two loans in and I have spoken to a few clubs and a few players.
"You cannot decide on January 1, we have to plan if we can.
"I am busy trying to improve the squad and I think loans can be helpful. If I can improve the squad and it is the right thing for the club, I will try to do it."
