Leeds boss backs Italian to revel in England role
Leeds United boss Dennis Wise believes Fabio Capello will bring something 'different' to English football.
Capello's appointment as Steve McClaren's successor looks all but inevitable, with an announcement reportedly set for Thursday afternoon.
And Wise is sure that the Football Association has chosen the correct man in the Italian.
The Leeds manager says that Capello's influences from abroad can only benefit the England setup.
"I think he would be good for the game, with different ideas - I think that is important. It will be interesting to see how he does," he said on
Sky Sports News.
Capable
"He knows what he is doing. He is well capable. Maybe we need someone like this, someone who is different.
"I think it would be good for us. A foreigner who can come in and change the whole way that we do things [would be good]."
When asked whether he thought Capello's restricted grasp of the English language might be an issue, Wise replied: "I don't think it is a problem.
"He'll learn the lingo; he probably does not need to speak. He can put it across by doing it [training] on the field."
