Arsenal and England’s Fara Williams named Sportswoman of the Month

Fara Williams has been voted as your Sky Sports Sportswoman of the Month for March.

The Arsenal and England midfielder claimed a whopping 72 per cent of the public vote to win the poll ahead of British tennis player Johanna Konta, who moved up to No 21 in the world after reaching the quarter-finals of the Miami Open

There was a three-way tie for third between amateur jockey Victoria Pendleton, cyclist Lizzie Armitstead and golfer Lydia Ko.

Williams, who scored three goals during England's historic 2015 Women's World Cup campaign, earned her 150th international cap when she took to the field against Germany at last month's inaugural SheBelieves Cup.

The 32-year-old made one further appearance during the tournament to extend her tally of England caps to 151 - a record across both the men's and women's game.
