Everton boss urges new England manager to look past top four sides

David Moyes has urged new England manager Fabio Capello not to overlook Everton midfielder Leon Osman. The Everton manager believes the 26-year-old should be considered in Capello's plans as he builds his 2010 World Cup qualifying squad. Osman has put on some impressive midfield performances this season scoring five goals, including three in the Premier League. Moyes is convinced Osman warrants a place in the national squad and believes Capello must form his own opinions of English players.

Single-minded

"As a manager taking over a new country, you have a duty to see all the players and form your own opinions," he told the Daily Express. "Capello has strong opinions and is single-minded, and I'm sure he'll form his own opinions. He won't be led by other people. "Leon is a very good, technical player, as well as a hard worker. He has played very well this season, and he is one who is in contention." Moyes believes Capello should not focus his plans around the top four teams and divert his attention to other strong candidates.
Contention
"The good thing is that our players are putting their names out there for people to take notice," he added. "They are producing good performances regularly. "All our top players are on long-term contracts, they have a high value, and they are well paid to stay at Everton. "They are beginning to understand the workings of the club, and what it means to be involved here."
