Thursday 28 April 2016 07:51, UK
Gilly Flaherty struck just past the hour mark to send Chelsea to the top of the Women's Super League with a 2-1 win over Liverpool.
Flaherty headed home from a Beth England corner as their side were forced to hang on to claim their third successive league win.
Ji So-Yun had given Chelsea the lead after 15 minutes and despite Flaherty extending the advantage the visitors had to ride their luck.
Caroline Weir reduced the deficit for Liverpool while Chelsea finished the game without Katie Chapman and Hedvig Lindahl, who were both forced off with head injuries.
Arsenal moved up to third with a 2-1 win at Reading, Victoria Losada and Dominique Janssen scoring either side of the break before Emma Follis reduced the deficit late on.
And despite a sixth-minute opener from Natasha Dowie, Doncaster Rovers Belles fell to their second straight loss as goals from Freda Ayisi and Melissa Lawley gave Birmingham a 2-1 win.
