Dowie plans talks with new Sky Blues owner

Coventry boss Iain Dowie is hoping the club's new owners will back him in his bid to bring in some new signings. Ray Ranson's SISU Capital group completed a takeover for the club last Friday after a long drawn-out affair. Dowie is happy the whole ownership issue has been resolved and he is planning to hold talks with Ranson about transfer plans. "Better late than never [the takeover]. It is not about Iain Dowie or anyone else it is about Coventry City still being here as a going entity," Dowie told Sky Sports News. "So Ray deserves a lot of credit for that.

Important

"I think it is important there is investment in the club. "If we are to bring in some players they have got to be better than the characters we have got in the team and that will take some doing as we have got some good characters around the place. "It will be done thoughtfully and the first people to know will be the players who are going to be targeted "We are not going to sing from the rooftops about how much money we have got to spend as I don't think that is the way to do business. "I am due to meet him [Ranson] later in the week and we will sit down and have a chat. "He comes from a football background and he will understand it and I will have a chat with him and see what his views are. "It is very important that we get that good relationship started from minute one."
