Striker eager to impress Gers manager
Kris Boyd is determined to grasp his opportunities to impress Rangers manager Walter Smith.
The striker has scored nine goals in 18 appearances for the Gers this season, but had just one late substitute outing in the UEFA Champions League group phase.
He understands why he has not always been selected in the starting line-up by Smith due to Rangers' exploits in Europe and pursuit of Celtic in the SPL.
But that merely makes the Scotland international more anxious to impress his boss when he is given the chance.
Competition
"It is true that I would like to have played a bit more this season, but the team has been doing really well," he told
Rangers News.
"It has been a squad effort so far and there have been a few people left out over the past few months, not just me.
"The important thing for every player is to take your chance when it comes along and make sure you impress the manager.
"That is the same at every club, but especially at Rangers where the competition for places is so high."
