Simek suffers ruptured ankle ligaments
Sheffield Wednesday defender Frank Simek faces a spell on the sidelines with a serious ankle injury.
Simek picked up the injury during last weekend's defeat at Crystal Palace.
Scans have shown that the former Arsenal youngster has ruputured ankle ligaments and he is expected to be out of action for up to eight weeks.
It means that Simek will miss the busy festive period, in what is a major blow for Owls boss Brian Laws.
"The scans showed that Frank has ruptured a ligament in his ankle. We will see how he progresses over the next ten days but it is likely that he will be out for six to eight weeks," physio Mark Palmer told the club's official website.
