Striker not happy after losing place in Brazilian national team
Brazilian striker Fred has admitted that he may be forced into looking for a move away from Lyon.
Fred has only started three Ligue 1 games for the league leaders this season, and is yet to find the back of the net in any competition.
His lack of first-team opportunities has resulted in him losing his place in the Brazilian national team, a situation which he is keen to rectify as soon as possible even if that means leaving the Stade Gerland.
Paris Saint Germain and Fluminense have already shown an interest in Fred, but Lyon are only interested in a sale ruling out the Brazilian side's hopes of having the player on loan for the Copa Libertadores.
Trust
"I am going to wait until after the holidays and then I will see what my future holds," Fred told
Gazeta Esportiva.
"I have spoken with the coach and the president.
"I would like to stay until the end of my contract in 2009 but I want to have the chance to play more so I can recover my place in the national team. I cannot continue with the way things are at the moment.
"All I want is the chance to play, with the opportunity to score 20 or 25 goals a season.
"I want the club to trust me again, that I am their number nine, but that is currently impossible at Lyon. We are playing with only one forward, Karim Benzema, and he is doing really well."
