Wenger praises "awesome" Clichy
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has praised French defender Gael Clichy's contribution to the league-leaders' conquering campaign.
The 22-year-old has been an ever-present for the Gunners in the league this term, starting all 21 of their games.
Wenger has praised the "awesome" aspects of his game and believes Clichy now looks an experienced player who can handle any situation.
The Arsenal boss told L'Equipe that Clichy was outstanding in the 2-0 victory over West Ham on New Year's Day.
"He assisted Adebayor, after the last one against Everton, which means two in two matches," said Wenger.
Improvement
"Actually, his improvement has been quite steady. Today we can notice he has no more gaps in his play.
"He is awesome in the quality of his passes, in his long passes, in his technical level. He can get out of any situation.
"I would say now he looks experienced. He really achieved a great last match."
Wenger has also revealed that he expects his African players to play in the FA Cup third round clash on Sunday before leaving for the African Cup of Nations.
"I believe Kolo Toure and Emmanuel Eboue will be able to play in the cup on Sunday against Burnley before leaving," he said.
