Preston boss Alan Irvine confirmed Rangers had made an offer for the versatile forward.
The 27-year-old has now agreed personal terms and passed a medical at Loftus Road.
Agyemang is believed to have put pen to paper on a four-and-a-half-year deal at the big-spending Championship outfit.
Agyemang is set to join Hogan Ephraim, Matthew Connolly, Gavin Mahon, Kieran Lee and Akos Buzsaky in moving to Loftus Road since the transfer window opened.
