MK Dons boss is named as League Two manager of the month
There were no surprises as Milton Keynes Dons boss Paul Ince was again named as the League Two Manager of the Month.
Ince's team, who are currently eight points clear at the top, went all six games unbeaten throughout December.
They rattled up victories against Dagenham & Redbridge, Accrington, Peterborough, Notts County and Darlington, with a draw at home to Brentford sandwiched in between.
Explaining his choice, adjudicator Chris Kamara said there could only be one winner.
Incredible
"His reputation as a manager just gets bigger and bigger and you look at some of the results in the month of December for him, they were just incredible," Kamara told
Sky Sports News.
"They were just phenomenal."
Kamara added the team do not leak many goals, and said their keeper Willy Gueret "is in outstanding form this season".
Alluding to the speculation which had seen Ince's name linked to the vacant Derby post, which eventually went to Paul Jewell, Kamara said: "He actually didn't go, he stayed, but you wouldn't know, you haven't heard any murmurings, you haven't heard any discontent that he is still at MK Dons, all he has done is gone on and got result after result."
Asked how difficult it will be for MK Dons to keep hold of Ince, who is also being linked with the vacant Hibs post, Kamara added: "I think they have rode it now because of the fact that it was a Premiership job.
Trophy
"I think because it was a Premiership job, I think Paul probably thought about it. But now that has gone I think he will want to see the job through and get a trophy under his belt. He hasn't had that yet as a manager and that is part of his CV."
After enjoying such a fantastic run, Kamara believed the MK Dons are now there to be shot at.
"Everybody wants to beat you, but you have got to maintain that and I think they will. They are strong right the way through, they have got goals all over the place," he said.
Rochdale boss Keith Hill came second in the competition and Morecambe's Sammy McIlroy was third, while Wycombe manager Paul Lambert was also shortlisted.
