Sheffield United's FA Cup hero David Carney insists he harbours no grudge against Everton manager David Moyes.
The Australian was on Everton's books as a youngster, but was released by Moyes after failing to make a first-team appearance.
He had fruitless spells at Oldham Athletic, Halifax Town and Hamilton Academical before returning to Australia to join Sydney FC.
An impressive stint with Sydney earned Carney a return to English football with the Blades last summer and he scored the only goal in Saturday's FA Cup third-round win at Bolton Wanderers.
The winger admits he was disappointed not to make the grade at Everton, but has nothing but praise for Goodison boss Moyes.
"I don't have a bad word to say about David Moyes," said Carney in the
Daily Mirror.
"He knew I had talent, but it had reached the stage whether he wanted to keep me on or not.
"Of course I was disappointed he let me go, but he said he would keep an eye on me and I hope he does.
"I think he's a great manager and I have a huge respect for him."
