Cansdell-Sherriff off as Orient triumph

Leyton Orient have moved up a place to sixth after overcoming 10-man Tranmere 3-0 at Brisbane Road. The O's were ahead from the 11th minute when Wayne Gray stabbed home from close range after Rovers failed to clear a corner. Any hopes the visitors harboured of getting back into the contest ended shortly after half-time when Shane Cansdell-Sherriff was shown a second yellow card for his tackle on Andrew Barcham. Orient failed to impress despite the man advantage, but former Sunderland and Doncaster man Sean Thornton wrapped up the points on 83 minutes with a lofted effort. The home side added a third, which was slightly harsh on Rovers, when Jason Demetriou's low drive beat Danny Coyne in injury time.
