Derby are in talks to sign Australian international Mile Sterjovski.
Rams boss Paul Jewell has been busy in the transfer market this month signing four new players and he is hoping to bring Sterjovski to Pride Park.
Jewell has lined up a deal for the Genclerbirligi midfielder, but admits Sterjovski is unlikely to sign in time for this weekend's clash with Wigan.
"We are hoping the lad has arrived today from Turkey and we can get things done," Jewell told the club's official website.
Work permit
"He will have to go back to Turkey to get his work permit, so there's no chance of him featuring this weekend.
"He played in the World Cup for Australia wide right but can play up front too.
"He has good energy and is a good footballer and I'll be pleased to have him because he can add something to the team."
