Perry and Slater sign 18-month contracts
Port Vale have signed Chris Slater and Kyle Perry from non-league side Chasetown.
Vale manager Lee Sinnott was impressed by Slater and Perry during the FA Cup second round encounters between his side and Chasetown, and has now secured the duo on 18-month contracts.
Chasetown chairman John Donnelly said: "Both clubs have agreed a nominal fee for both players, a sell-on clause and a pre-season friendly at Chasetown."
Perry added on Vale's
official website: "There were always going to be rumours after the FA Cup, but the first both of us heard of it was yesterday, and it came as a bit of shock.
"Coming here is a great opportunity for both of us and hopefully we can achieve something, work hard and go on from there.
"At the moment the deal is for 18 months, and we will go on from there. I am a young lad and I have still got a lot to learn."
Former Wolves player Slater, 23, operates in defence while Perry, 21, is a striker.
