Plymouth have signed striker Steven MacLean from Championship rivals Cardiff for a club-record £500,000 fee.
MacLean has signed a three-and-a-half year deal and is reunited with Pilgrims boss Paul Sturrock, whom he played under at Sheffield Wednesday.
He will go will go straight into Plymouth's home Championship clash with Southampton, subject to international clearance from the Welsh FA.
MacLean began his professional career at Scottish giants Rangers and enjoyed a successful season-long loan spell at Scunthorpe before joining Sheffield Wednesday for a reported fee of £125,000.
The Scottish striker scored 32 goals in 60 games for the Owls before joining Cardiff on a free in the summer, starting eight games and making ten appearances for the Bluebirds.
His Cardiff career was hampered after he sustained an ankle injury and then struggled to displace Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink and Steven Thompson once he had regained fitness.
