Crewe Alexandra have brought in Everton youngster Patrick Boyle on a month's loan.
The League One side had been keen to add a left-back to the squad and have agreed a deal for Boyle.
The 20-year-old has yet to make a senior appearance for Everton and is relishing his stay with Crewe.
"Traditionally, Crewe have always been renowned for being a footballing side and although things haven't gone well for them lately, I can't wait to get started," Boyle told the club's official website.
"They've got a lot of games during my month and if I prove that I am worthy of a place in the team then it will be a chance for me to play regular football.
"Playing League One football week-in, week-out is far better for me than waiting for reserve matches to come along."
Boyle could make his debut for Crewe in Tuesday evening's game at League One leaders Swansea City.
