Irish midfielder joins Dale on loan

Rochdale have bolstered their squad after landing Sheffield United's young midfielder Martin Donnelly for the remainder of the campaign. The 19-year-old has come through the ranks at Bramall Lane, but is yet to make his first-team debut under manager Bryan Robson. The midfielder, who is a Northern Ireland Under-19 international, has been training with the Spotland outfit and could now made his debut against MK Dons this weekend. Dale boss Keith Hill has described the youngster as a similar style player to Scott Sellars, who is now a coach at Sheffield United. "Martin's done well in training and he gives us good options on the left-hand side," Hill told the club's official website.
