Didi warns team-mates to buck up or miss out
Didi Hamann has warned his Manchester City team-mates that they are in danger of blowing their chances of playing in Europe next season.
City's fine start to the season has faltered in recent weeks, with Sven Goran Eriksson's side having stuttered to a 1-1 draw with West Ham at the weekend.
While they remain unbeaten at Eastlands the quality of their performances has dipped noticeably, with six points garnered from the last 18 a poor return for a side hunting UEFA Champions League football.
Warning call
Hamann believes qualifying for Europe's premier club competition with City would match winning it with Liverpool, but he has warned that this is highly unlikely unless they improve dramatically - and quickly.
"Getting City into the Champions League will be as great an achievement as winning it with Liverpool because the club has gone so long without success," said Hamann.
"The fans remained loyal through those lean years and deserve to have something to shout about.
"In the last few weeks we just haven't been firing, but fortunately we have managed to come away with a result from four or five sloppy performances."
