Villa boss plays down Pompey talk
Martin O'Neill has played down speculation suggesting Patrik Berger could be set to leave Aston Villa.
Portsmouth have been linked with the Czech Republic midfielder, who is still recovering from a hamstring injury and has made just five substitute appearances all season.
However, O'Neill insists Pompey have yet to make an offer and has ruled out the possibility of Berger going anywhere.
"Portsmouth have not come in for Patrik Berger - Patrik Berger has come in for Patrik Berger," O'Neill told the Birmingham Mail.
"Portsmouth have still got to make contact with me about wanting to take him officially.
"Patrik can't go anywhere at the moment because he's injured."
Villa have been quiet in the transfer window so far and O'Neill admits it has been a frustrating time.
"It's a particularly difficult market out there because everyone is chasing the same people," O'Neill added.
