Norwegian to stay with Brann
Wolves have failed in their bid to sign Erlend Hanstveit from Norwegian club Brann.
Hanstveit has been capped five times by his country and has earned rave reviews for his performances over recent months.
Mick McCarthy had identified the left-back as somebody who could strengthen his squad and lodged a bid of £500,000 with Brann.
Brann wanted more and the two clubs have been locked in discussions attempting to negotiate a reasonable fee.
They have not been able to agree and Brann have confirmed that talks have come to an end.
Brann now hope to persuade the 26-year-old to sign a new contract.
Sporting director Roald Bruun Hanssen told the
Express and Star: "There has been dialogue between the clubs, but we did not agree an economical platform for a transfer.
"Erlend has been told about the process all through and he accepts the situation."
