Spurs boss outlines process of recruiting players
Tottenham Hotspur manager Juande Ramos has revealed Spurs' transfer policy.
Previous reports suggested that certain players were brought into the club without former manager Martin Jol's consent.
However, Ramos has revealed that the current system sees a committee of Ramos, director of football Damien Comolli and chairman Daniel Levy decide on transfers.
Ramos explained that the club now have a strict process when recruiting new signings, while insisting that he has the final word on any new additions.
Excellent results
"This is the system we used in Spain at Sevilla and it gave us excellent results," he said in the
Daily Express.
"There is a consensus on whether a player can come, related to his quality, price and availability.
"We take those decisions communally; it's not just up to one person.
"I've already said no to a player on various occasions - maybe as many as eight times.
"Players I don't like and who aren't right for the team, we have rejected them.
Final decision
"We evaluate the player as a group, decide whether we are interested in him and make a final decision.
"Everyone in the working group has to be in agreement.
"When the transfer marker opened, we look at the situation and we always said it would depend on the players available.
"If we could get a player that would help the club, we would do all we could."
