Keeper impresses German giants

Bolton goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi is rumoured to be attracting interest from Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich. The Oman international has made just four appearances for the Trotters this season and has had to be prepared to play back-up to first-choice keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen ever since his arrival at the Reebok in 2006. Despite the lack of opportunities though Bayern were impressed by his performance during the 2-2 Uefa Cup draw between the two sides in November and also the clean sheet he kept against Crvena Zvezda in the same competition. With Oliver Kahn also set to retire in the summer Bayern will be in the market for a replacement and Al Habsi's agent Peter Harrison has revealed that he has already had contact from the Germans.

Possible deal

"I've had calls from foreign clubs, from Germany especially," he said in the News of the World. "We'll assess things in the summer."
