Juventus have pulled the plug on Tiago's move to Tottenham saying the midfielder will stay in Turin.

Juventus have pulled the plug on Tiago's move to Tottenham saying the midfielder will stay in Turin. Tottenham were hopeful of bringing the former Chelsea man back to England during this month's transfer window after holding talks with Juve. Atletico Madrid are also believed to be keen on the Portuguese international who has struggled to hold down a regular place in Claudio Ranieri's plans this season. Juventus have now called off any move for Tiago with the club's sporting director Alessio Secco accusing Tottenham of taking too long to complete the deal.

Deal off

"We have received a number of requests for him and Tottenham followed him over the last few days," Secco told the Italian press. "But, they [Spurs] took their time, and now there is not much time left to conclude the deal, so Tiago is no longer on the market. "Now he has got the chance to show his capabilities here with us."
Minor details
Secco confirmed the Italian giants are close to finalising a move for Liverpool midfielder Mohamed Sissoko. Sissoko is currently undergoing a medical at Juve ahead of his move to Turin and Secco says only a few minor details need to be sorted for the move to go through. The fact that Tiago appears to be staying with the Bianconeri does not appear to have placed the arrival of Mohamed Sissoko from Liverpool in jeopardy. "There a few details to define. We are really close to completing the affair," concluded Secco.
