The FA has rejected Tottenham’s appeal against the dismissal of defender Kyle Naughton in Sunday’s home defeat to Stoke.

Naughton was shown a straight red card five minutes from time in Spurs’ 2-1 loss at White Hart Lane for bringing down Victor Moses as he mounted a counter-attack.

Tottenham opted to appeal the ruling but an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing upheld the original decision.

Naughton will now serve an immediate two-match suspension as this is the second time he has been dismissed this season.

The ban will rule him out of the trip to the KC Stadium to face Hull in the Premier League on November 23 and the home game with Everton a week later.

See how Spurs get on without the suspended Kyle Naughton. Coverage of Hull v Tottenham begins on Sky Sports 1HD at 3:30pm a week on Sunday. Spurs v Everton is on the same channel at the same time on November 30.
