Italy coach Roberto Donadoni has named a 20-man squad ahead of their friendly with Portugal on Wednesday.
The World Champions will be without Juventus keeper Ginaluigi Buffon and Milan's combative midfielder Gennaro Gattuso for the game which is to be held in Zurich, Switzerland.
Buffon currently has a back problem, while Gattuso is suffering with a thigh injury. Juventus captain Alessandro Del Piero and Sampdoria striker Antonio Cassano have both been left out despite their current good form, but Genoa's Marco Borriello is included for the first time after notching 12 goals in Serie A this season.
