Veteran striker proves his worth
Blackpool striker Ben Burgess has told
skysports.com that loan signing Paul Dickov has been a fantastic acquisition for the club.
The diminutive Scottish striker has joined the Seasiders on loan from Manchester City until the end of the season and has already proved a shrewd capture with three goals in only three appearances.
Burgess said that he is personally delighted to be playing alongside such an experienced striker.
He told
skysports.com: "I'm a Man City fan so I know all about him and I've watched him throughout my career.
Tremendous
"He's been tremendous for us so far, he's a great experienced player who has come in and he works his socks off.
"He's 35 but he just charges round like a kid really and he's proved to be a great signing for us with three goals."
Burgess is particularly pleased with the speed at which he and his new partner have developed an understanding with each other.
"It works well between us and Saturday against Hull was the first time we have played together and he ended up getting two goals," he said.
