Substitute scores injury-time winner

Mbo Mpenza scored a dramatic winner as Anderlecht gained a 2-1 lead in their Uefa Cup last 32 tie with Bordeaux. Striker Mpenza had only been on the pitch a matter of seconds when he popped up five minutes into injury-time to sink Bordeaux in the first leg. A wretched first half saw neither team manage to test the keeper and it took until the 69th minute for the deadlock to be broken. Bordeaux grabbed the lead through Jussie Ferreyra's penalty after Fernando Cavenaghi had been brought down by Roland Juhasz. But Anderlecht were level 10 minutes later when Bordeaux failed to clear a cross and Jan Polak lashed home from just inside the box. With the game petering out to a draw, Mpenza made an instant impact when he guided home Jonathan Legear's cross with virtually the last kick. The winners of the tie will meet either Aberdeen or Bayern Munich in the last 16 of the competition.
