Robins perilously close to the relegation places
Cheltenham will be looking to pull away from the drop zone when they face Hartlepool at Whaddon Road on Saturday.
The Robins have won just once in their last five League One games and currently sit two points above the bottom four.
Hartlepool have won three of their last five to halt their slide down the table and could move back into the safety of mid-table with a win.
Spencer fit again
Cheltenham boss Keith Downing is expected to welcome back Damian Spencer after the striker declared himself fit following a recent virus.
Another player who has recently been struggling with the same problem, Ashley Vincent, could also return with the forward due to begin training again on Friday, but Michael Townsend (illness) is still out of action.
Long-term absentee Shane Duff (Achilles) built up his match fitness by turning out for the reserves in midweek but it remains to be seen whether he will be included in Downing's squad this weekend.
Skipper John Finnigan has suffered more injury heartache and looks set to be ruled out for the remainder of the season. Finnigan has spent much of the campaign sidelined with a foot problem but as a result of over-compensating for it now has an ankle injury.
Collins suspended
Hartlepool boss Danny Wilson will be without defender Sam Collins for the trip.
The Football Association rejected the club's appeal against his sending-off for an alleged elbow on Southend striker Lee Barnard during last Saturday's 2-1 defeat at Roots Hall.
After having his ban increased from three to four games, Collins will now sit out the second game of his suspension and Michael Nelson is also out after he was booked for the fifth time this season in the same game.
Ben Clark is still struggling with a groin injury and is unlikely to feature and striker James Brown remains sidelined for at least another month due to a knee ligament injury sustained against Luton.
However, Pools are able to call upon new loan signings Graeme Lee and Tom Craddock who both go straight into the squad.
