Finnigan ruled out
Cheltenham club captain John Finnigan has been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Finnigan has been sidelined with a foot problem since October and lasted just 15 minutes of a comeback for the reserves in January.
He will now undergo an operation after developing an ankle injury.
"John has been struggling with the foot injury but as a result of over compensating for it he now has an ankle problem," manager Keith Downing told the club's official website.
"It's a big disappointment for us and John is obviously very frustrated but hopefully the operation will clear the problem and have him up and running for the start of next season.
"The foot injury was slowly improving and required further time to heal but now we are going to clean the ankle up as well to try and prevent any future problems there."
