Eagles not ruling out permanent deal for loanee
Crystal Palace boss Neil Warnock says there is a 'definite possibility' that the club could make Jose Fonte's loan deal permanent.
The Benfica defender, signed by former boss Peter Taylor, has made only a few appearances under Warnock, but he is still open to the idea that Fonte could remain at the club.
"I certainly would not be against bringing him here on a permanent basis and certainly will not rule out that option when his loan period ends," he told
The Advertiser.
"It's a definite possibility for us."
Hughes to stay?
Meanwhile, 22-year-old defender Jeff Hughes has said he is keen to stay at Selhurst Park.
The left-back was close to a move to Peterborough this season after impressing during a loan spell, but he failed to agree terms.
A potential move to Bristol Rovers also fell through, and Hughes insists he is not looking to leave.
"I'm in no rush to leave the club," he said. "If I leave, it's because I'm not required, not because I'm looking for a move away.
"I'm going to keep talking to the manager and see what happens, but what happens with me is down to him.
"If I'm not needed then I will have to find another club."
