Auxerre defeated in cup semi-final

Paris St Germain progressed through to the final of the Coupe De La Ligue with a 3-2 win over Auxerre at the Parc des Princes. PSG took the lead in the 31st minute when the unmarked Mario Yepes emphatically headed past Remy Riou to send the home crowd into raptures. Former Portugal international Pauleta doubled the hosts lead with a slick finish two minutes before half-time, but Auxerre responded in fortuitous fashion when goalkeeper Mickael Landreau pushed Daniel Niculae's lob into his own net in the second-half. However, former Bolton defender Bernard Mendy sealed the tie five minutes later after he burst down the right wing and struck past Riou in the Auxerre goal. Julien Quercia struck a last minute consolation, but PSG held on and will face either Le Mans or Lens in the final at the Stade de France.
