West Brom striker sets sights on top spot
West Brom striker Kevin Phillips is keen for another crack at the Premier League after being named the best player in the Championship this year.
Phillips has fired 17 goals this season to earn the accolade as the Baggies have climbed to fourth in the Championship table.
And the 34-year-old former Sunderland, Southampton and Aston Villa forward has set his sights on a return to the top-flight with the Baggies.
"Everyone wants to play in the Premier League and I've been lucky enough to play there and do well there," Phillips told
Sky Sports News.
Cautious
"I know what comes with doing well in the Premier League. I would love another stab at it, but there is still a lot to play for."
Phillips remains cautious over West Brom's chances of securing promotion to the Premier League this season, after suffering play-off final failure last year, but he accepts that he and his team-mates are well placed.
"You would say so," Phillips added when asked if he felt this was West Brom's best chance to earn a return to the Premier League after being relegated in 2006.
"But who knows. You never know in football. You have to keep an open mind. There is still a long way to go.
"I believe we have the squad to do it. We believe we can do it and it is just a question of doing it out on the pitch."
