Reports claim Tottenham have made their move

Reports in Spain claim Tottenham have opened talks with Espanyol goalkeeper Carlos Kameni. The highly-rated Cameroon shot-stopper is being watched by a host of clubs and the Barcelona-based club are bracing themselves for bids. Spurs number two Gus Poyet has already confirmed that his club are interested in Kameni and now reports in Catalunya say the North London club have made their move. The news comes after Manchester United watched Espanyol at the weekend, with Kameni the reported target for chief scout Martin Ferguson. Espanyol have and are still denying any official contact has been made, but they are yet to tie the player down to a new contract with his current deal set to expire next year. Tottenham, who have also been linked to Scott Carson in the last week or so, are seemingly set to move for a new goalkeeper with neither Paul Robinson or Radek Cerny impressing new coach Juande Ramos since he took charge.
