Hall and Proctor breathe fire into Dragons' survival fight

Wrexham boosted their survival hopes with a 2-0 win over managerless Chester. Goals from Paul Hall and Michael Proctor were enough to give the basement boys a much-needed win. Chester started brightly and came to scoring in the very first minute when Chris Holroyd saw his shot superbly saved by Gavin Ward. Hall fired Wrexham in front on 22 minutes when he converted Proctor's pass to register his first goal for the club. Chester should have drawn level just past the hour mark when Kevin Ellison saw his close-range effort kept out by Ward Wrexham added a second on 65 minutes when Proctor volleyed his shot into the top corner to send the away fans into raptures. Ward produced two fine save to deny Ellison and Paul McManus as Wrexham hung on for a morale-boosting victory.
