Portsmouth have handed David James a new two-and-half-year contract. James was under contract until 2009 but Pompey have now extended that by a futher year until 2010. The 37-year-old has been in wonderful form for the Fratton Park club since moving to the South Coast from Manchester City in 2006. "I'm delighted to get the opportunity to sign a new contract," James told the club's official website. "I'm enjoying being at Pompey - it is a fantastic enviroment." James' form has also seen him recalled to the England squad and he started Fabio Capello's first game in charge against Switzerland last month.
