Bruckner urges veteran to decide on future

Czech Republic coach Karel Bruckner has called on Pavel Nedved to make a definitive decision on his international future. The veteran Juventus midfielder made his last appearance for his country in a friendly against Serbia in August 2006. However, Nedved recently admitted that he is considering coming out of international retirement to play at Euro 2008. And Bruckner, who will retire as Czech Republic boss after this summer's finals, has urged the 35-year-old to clearly indicate his intentions. "It is a major decision to make for Pavel Nedved, not for me," Bruckner told Sport.

Unambiguously

"For me it is simple. If a player is fit, is in good shape, wants to play, I will nominate him or will not nominate him. "It is no problem for me. But I think the problem with Pavel Nedved is somewhere else, it is to make an outright decision. For me the same still counts - Pavel Nedved has retired from international football. "Pavel must unambiguously say that he wants that and that it will be so or so."
