Dave Penney's play-off hopefuls were stunned 2-1 by lowly Chester at the Deva Stadium.
Hereford played out a 0-0 stalemate against Bury as they stuttered in their attempts to apply full pressure on the top two.
Elsewhere, Barnet downed Lincoln 5-2, while Chesterfield came from two goals down to win 4-2 against Accrington.

Paul Fairclough's Barnet recorded just their third win in 11 games as they ran out 5-2 winners against Lincoln City at Underhill. Adam Birchall broke the deadlock on 28 minutes, before Albert Adomah dispatched from the penalty spot after Lee Ridley had felled the midfielder in the area. Anthony Thomas struck prior to the interval, and then Birchall struck his second of the game to make it 4-0. Max Porter made it an embarrassing 5-0, while Ben Wright hit a late brace to restore a flicker of pride.

Brentford ended their recent run of wretched form as they piled more misery on bottom-of-the-table Wrexham. Ricky Shakes grabbed a brace for the home side, scoring in each half to seal their second win in eight games.

Paul Rutherford broke the deadlock for the home side before Ritchie Partridge doubled their advantage on 36 minutes. Stephen Foster struck a late consolation for Darlington, who remain fourth in the table.

Chesterfield secured a marvellous turnaround as they came from two goals down to claim a 4-2 triumph over Accrington. Andrew Procter handed the visitors a goal two-goal lead, opening the scoring on 23 minutes before finishing from the penalty spot. But Lee Richardson's men demonstrated incredible resolve as Derek Niven and then a Mark Roberts own goal put them level. Jamie Lowry put the home side in front in the 59th minute before Jamie Ward put the icing on the cake with five minutes remaining.

Out-of-form sides Dagenham and Shrewsbury shared the spoils as their fixture ended in a 1-1 draw. Andy Cooke handed Shrewsbury, who are now without a win in 11 league games, the lead on 34 minutes at Victoria Road. But Paul Benson secured a point for Dagenham, who had lost three consecutive league games prior to this match, with 20 minutes remaining.
