Revista revealed that Bernd Schuster has made few friends, which has come back to haunt him .
Any man in charge of Real Madrid is, has been, and will be under pressure, but having lost for the sixth match in eight, Bernd Schuster is treading water.
Barcelona cut Real Madrid's lead at the top to just four points after the champions lost a 3-2 thriller to Valencia and Barca hammered Valladolid 4-0.
And Villarreal's fine form has continued as the Yellow Submarines are now just two points behind Barca in third.
The champions are under real pressure and Guillem Balague believes that there really is only one man to blame.
"After the defeat to Valencia, Schuster was meeting with his staff and saying 'what's happening here?', said Ballague.
"Six defeats in eight and the conclusion that they reached was that actually it is an anxiety problem.
"The players are confused and they don't chose their own possibilities."
Balague feels that this is not the case though as Schuster has selected 27 different line-ups in 29 games.
"Schuster is confused. Nine different centre midfield players used during the season, no clear replacement and not knowing what to do now that Ruud van Nistelrooy has gone - all of this is confusing!
"And of course the fact that they are in a negative dynamic. They've got to stop that somehow and of the manager is asking 'what's going on?' it's because he doesn't have the answer."
Nistelrooy
On top of Real Madrid's terrible form, news came from the Bernabeu that Van Nistelrooy, who as we heard last week was ruled out for the season with an ankle injury, took the decision to be operated on now, as opposed to the summer, without consulting the club.
But
Revista's man in Spain Graham Hunter feels that Nistelrooy, and Real Madrid, made the correct call.
"There are those in Spain who are criticising Nistelrooy and saying he made a selfish decision, that he wanted to be ready for the Dutch squad to play in Euro 2008.
"But I'm pretty sure that Real Madrid were involved in the decision.
"I don't think his future is in jeopardy and I think for once at Real Madrid the correct decision was taken.
"Schuster has made so few friends within the club, on the training ground or in the media that it's at times of crisis that people come out and put a magnifying glass to every decision.
"For example, after the defeat to Valencia, Schuster was saying it was ridiculous, they weren't able to see out the draw - the players were pushing too far forward.
"But everybody was saying why didn't he put on Diarra or Heinze - defensive players.
"Every move from Schuster is under critical scrutiny at the moment, because they are struggling and also because he has made no friends."
Crisis
Talks of a crisis meeting taking place after the 3-2 defeat to Valencia ensued, as Hunter told
Revista.
"The first indication that something was wrong was that Schuster, who likes to rush into his press conference, snarl at the press and then rush out, didn't talk to the media for 50 minutes," said Hunter.
"That was the 50 minutes while the meeting went on between the President, Calderon, two Vice presidents, and Predrag Mijatovic (Sporting Director).
"What was discussed? Three layers: Why have things gone wrong? Why is there no reaction? And is Schuster the correct man to see us through this mini crisis?
"Mijatovic was told by the President 'I don't want to meet face-to-face withe coach. I want you to go down and tell (Schuster) that he's got to sort it out, we want different results and above all we want our pride, that has been stung, coming back into our performances."
