Keeper undergoes precautionary scan on knee injury
Aston Villa expect Scott Carson to be fit for Saturday's game at Premier League leaders Manchester United.
Carson pulled out of the England squad to face France on Wednesday, live on
Sky Sports 1, due to a knee injury.
He has undergone a precautionary scan on the injury, which detected no serious problems.
The goalkeeper, who is on loan from Liverpool, is now likely to start the weekend's fixture at Old Trafford.
A club spokesman said: "We didn't think it was anything serious but, after consultation between our own medical team and England's, it was decided a week away with the international squad may have aggravated the problem."
Carson has made 28 league appearances for Villa and was sent off in the club's 4-1 home defeat to United earlier in the season.
His place in the England squad had been taken by Paul Robinson, while injury also forced Chris Kirkland to withdraw from the friendly.
