Further changes at Field Mill

Mansfield have released defender Martin McIntosh, while Danny Sleath and Ian Holmes have left on loan deals. Veteran Scottish stopper McIntosh has failed to recover from a long standing hamstring problem and has seen his contract paid up accordingly. He had joined the Stags last summer, making 12 appearances in a largely disappointing season for the club.

Match fitness

Midfielder Sleath has decided to join Gainsborough Trinity on loan for the remainder of the season. The 21-year-old had initially looked set to join Matlock Town on a similar deal, but had a last minute change of heart and will now link up with Conference North side Trinity. Busy Mansfield boss Paul Holland told the club's official website the reasons behind the decision to allow Sleath to leave the club. "It's a shame that we are having to send out players on loan, but we don't have a reserve league, and these players are short on match fitness," he said.
Good acquisition
Another loan star on his way out of Field Mill is striker Holmes, who has agreed to join non-league side Telford for the remainder of the current campaign. He has struggled to break into the first team fold of late and feels that the opportunity to play regular football again will serve him well. Holland confirmed that the player had requested a move after being told that he would not figure again for the League Two club this season. "He has struggled to get into the first team and needs to get games under his belt," he said. "He came to me asking for a loan move and I am sure that he will be a good acquisition for Telford."
