Rams youngster out to secure permanent move

Derby County defender Mitchell Hanson has joined Port Vale on loan with a view to a permanent deal. Hanson is currently sidelined with a calf injury, but Vale boss Lee Sinnott is keen to assess the teenager before the end of the season. Sinnott is hoping the 19-year-old, who has not made a senior appearance for Derby, could turn out to be a long-term recruit. "He is a player I am looking at for the future," Sinnott told the club's official website. "He can play at centre-back or at full-back, but he won't be able to join us for ten days because of his injury. "If I had waited until he is over the injury, we wouldn't be able to look at him until the summer, so it makes sense to get him in now rather than later. "He would only be playing in Derby's reserves, so we may as well take a look at him playing for our own reserve side, or perhaps in the first team, and then look at the situation at the end of the season."
