Derby midfielder makes loan move
Stoke have strengthened their squad further with the capture of Stephen Pearson on loan from Derby for the rest of the season.
Tony Pulis signed Shola Ameobi from Newcastle on a similar deal on Thursday and The Potters have now announced details of Pearson's transfer.
The paperwork was filed through to the Football Association and the Football League just before the loan deadline and Stoke have had to wait for the switch to be approved.
"I am delighted to confirm that the temporary signing of Stephen has been confirmed," chief executive Tony Scholes told the club's
official website.
"He and Shola Ameobi will both be here with us to the end of the season to help us with the final push."
Scottish midfielder Pearson has made 24 appearances for Derby this season but manager Paul Jewell has allowed him to drop down to the Championship to aid Stoke's challenge for promotion.
Pearson is likely to go straight into the squad for Stoke's clash with Sheffield Wednesday on Saturday.
