Jamie Carragher says Liverpool's current schedule will make or break their 2007/08 campaign.

Reds ace issues rallying cry

Jamie Carragher says Liverpool's current schedule will make or break their 2007/08 campaign. The Reds have already taken on Manchester United, although it is their next four fixtures which will define whether it has been a good or bad season for Rafa Benitez's men. Liverpool take on Everton at Anfield on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 1 and Sky Sports 1 HD, although they also have one eye on upcoming games against Arsenal in the league and also in Europe. Carragher is hoping the success of The Reds' 2001 campaign in which they won the Uefa Cup, FA Cup and League Cup will stand the team in good stead for competing in the here and now. "We're used to coping with these demanding schedules," he told the News of the World.

Pedigree

"This is a make-or-break spell - we all realise that - but I'm sure our pedigree is coping with these situations will stand us in good stead. "In recent years we've always been there or thereabouts in the cup competitions. You can go as far as the 2001 season when it seems every match was like a cup final, both in terms of the three trophies we won and the importance of league games in qualifying for the Champions League. "If we were to repeat that, no one will be talking about anything else that's happened this season in the years to come. No one will be saying it was a bad time for the club then. We'd just look back and say 2008 was great. "I hope those experiences are going to help us. There's always a point at this time of year where you look at the fixtures and you see four or five games together which will basically decide how the season will go. It's the same now."
