Former goalkeeper replaces Baldini
Former Italy goalkeeper Walter Zenga has been appointed coach of struggling Serie A side Catania.
Silvio Baldini parted company with the Sicilian club on Monday following the 2-1 home defeat to Torino at the weekend.
Zenga was immediately tipped as the most likely replacement and the club has now moved quickly to bring him in.
"I have a lot of enthusiasm and will try to show what I can do," Zenga told
Gazzetta dello Sport.
Zenga quit as coach of Romania's Dinamo Bucharest in November after losing a derby to former club Steaua Bucharest.
The 47-year-old, who earned 58 caps for Italy, has been charged with the task of securing Catania's survival.
Catania are hovering just above the relegation zone on goal difference after failing to win any of their last four matches.
