Pompey boss defiant ahead of FA Cup semi-final
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp insists he has no reason to hide when he takes his place in the dugout at Wembley in the semi-finals of the FA Cup.
Redknapp remains on police bail as part of an ongoing investigation into corruption in football after he was among five men arrested in November on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.
Pompey take on West Brom in the final four of the FA Cup at Wembley on Saturday lunchtime, but Redknapp insists he has no reason to feel guilty.
Police have yet to issue any charge against Redknapp, but the Fratton Park boss insists he will be found totally innocent.
"If I got caught with my secretary or something I wouldn't be able to come to work," Redknapp said in the
Daily Mirror.
Problem
"I would go away and hide, I would want to kill myself, I really would. If I had done something wrong I would, but in my case I have done nothing wrong.
"It is like anything. When you know you haven't done something wrong it doesn't bother you, does it?
"If I had done something wrong, I would be more bothered than anybody - I couldn't handle it. But it's not a problem.
"Sure, I took it to work. I explained to the lads what it was all about. After it happened I had a meeting and told everyone (at the club) what was going on.
"It is just a load of nonsense that has nothing to do with me in any shape or form, and that will be proved. So I just come to work and get on with it."
