Brazilian striker believes Turkish champions can not win Euro glory
Fenerbahce striker Deivid believes the UEFA Champions League will be lifted by either Chelsea or Liverpool and not the Turkish side.
The Turkish champions have reached the quarter-finals of the elite competition for the first time but the Brazilian striker does not believe they will go all the way.
His comments come despite his side beating Chelsea 2-1 in the first leg of their clash on Wednesday.
He scored the winning goal after earlier giving Chelsea the lead through an own goal, with team-mate Colin Kazim-Richards netting the equaliser.
His winner means Fenerbahce have everything to play for in Tuesday's second leg at Stamford Bridge, but Deivid still believes they can not progress all the way.
Made history
He told
Terra TV: "We have already made history in the Champions League. The teams that have the responsibility of winning are Liverpool and Chelsea. We aren't the candidates for winning the title.
"In the match that we played the other night, we respected Chelsea too much in the first half. We should have played like we did in the second half because if you attack you have more chances for winning.
"This is the first time that Fenerbahce have got to this stage of the Champions League and the supporters are very happy about that but we can't celebrate anything yet as we still have to play the second leg."
