Bundesliga bottom club MSV Duisburg will be without top-scorer Manasseh Ishiaku for several weeks.
The Nigeria international limped out of Friday's 1-0 home loss to Cottbus early in the first half and club doctors have now diagnosed an ankle ligament injury which will keep the 25-year-old sidelined for the rest of the month.
The news comes as a massive blow to Zebras coach Rudi Bommer as he attempts to keep his team in the top flight after winning promotion last term.
Friday's defeat, just a week after Duisburg upset high-flying Werder Bremen away, has left the Ruhr Valley outfit bottom of the Bundesliga with just 22 points from 27 matches.
