Striker in squad to face Reds
Robin van Persie has been named in Arsenal's squad for their UEFA Champions League tie with Liverpool.
The Dutch international was forced to sit out Saturday's Premier League meeting between the two sides with a thigh complaint, but has been included for the crucial European showdown on Tuesday.
The midweek encounter will represent the third time the clubs have come head-to-head in the space of a week, with the two previous meetings ending in 1-1 draws.
As a result, Liverpool hold a slight advantage as the trilogy moves to Merseyside with their away goal in the first leg at Emirates Stadium last Wednesday ensuring that a goalless draw would be enough to put them through.
However, Gunners manager Arsene Wenger will be hoping that a fit again Van Persie could be the difference at Anfield after seeing his striker restricted to just 19 appearances in all competitions this season.
Pre-season
With the season drawing to a close, Arsenal have also announced that Real Madrid, Juventus and Hamburg will be the visitors for the annual Emirates Cup in August.
It is the second time that the torunament has been held, and will take place on 2nd and 3rd August at the Gunners' Emirates Stadium.
"We are delighted at the calibre of the three visiting teams to this year's Emirates Cup," said Arsenal managing director Keith Edelman.
